Where do we get our funds? 

Seasonal fees for participating on the Whatcom Sailing Team cover operating expenses for each season but they do not cover the big costs. Buying and maintaining boats, replacement of sails, and liability insurance are all additional costs. We rely on donations for those expenses which keep the program alive year after year.

Where do my donations go?

Towards large purchases like:

A fleet of 9 new FJs, split 50/50 with BYC, in 2019. These boats each receive around 400 hours a year of use, ~180 from high school sailing

A set of race sails, with emblems of each high of our main high schools: Bellingham, Sehome, and Squalicum

Can I donate towards scholarships?

Yes! You can donate specifically towards scholarships. We currently offer scholarships at cost to our program.
